Part 1: Angkor Sunrise & Ancient Temples (Morning)
Your day begins with an early morning pickup between 4:20 AM and 4:50 AM from your hotel. Travel to the ancient Angkor Park to witness a magical sunrise over the iconic towers of Angkor Wat. Afterward, satisfy your breakfast cravings with a delicious Cambodian meal at a local restaurant within the complex (at your own expense).
Next, explore the fascinating beauty of Bayon Temple, located at the center of Angkor Thom, famous for its 54 towers topped with the four faces of Avalokiteshvara. Continue to the world-famous Ta Prohm Temple, the jungle-framed ruins featured in the 2001 Tomb Raider movie, where massive tree roots swallow ancient stone walls.
Midday Break: Return to Hotel (12:30 PM - 1:40 PM)
After the temple tour, you will be driven back to your hotel in town around 12:30 PM. Take this time to relax in the air conditioning, have lunch, freshen up, and recharge your batteries during the hottest hours of the day.
Part 2: Tonle Sap Lake & Floating Village Tour (Afternoon)
Get picked up again between 1:40 PM and 2:10 PM for your afternoon adventure. Begin by visiting the local Rulous Market to see villagers selling home-grown vegetables, or stop by a local pagoda to learn about regional religious traditions.
Next, board a comfortable boat trip to explore the astounding floating villages. Marvel at the unique stilted houses standing between 8 and 10 meters high. Sail past the local floating school, farm, and even the community hospital, gaining a rare insight into how locals have beautifully adapted to life on the water with a smile. You will be transferred back to your hotel at the end of the tour.
