Your journey begins on the road to El Retiro with a stop at the beautiful Caballeros de la Virgen church, a peaceful spot to take in the architecture and your first photos of the day. From there, you’ll arrive in El Retiro itself — a postcard town of white-walled houses, flower-filled balconies, and a cobblestone main square. Here you’ll pause for an authentic Colombian coffee and explore the town’s traditional cabinetmaking shops, where local artisans still craft wood by hand.
Next comes lunch: a hearty, traditional paisa meal that fuels you for the afternoon. Then we head into nature at El Tequendamita, a beautiful waterfall where you can cool off and soak in the scenery, followed by a scenic drive through the rolling hills and country estates of Llanogrande.
The sweetest stop is San Antonio de Pereira, known across Colombia as the town of desserts. Here you’ll treat yourself to a delicious local dessert in a town that has built its fame on them.
To close the day, we wind down through Las Palmas to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the valley. As the sun sets and the lights of Medellín begin to glow, you’ll enjoy a classic Colombian hot dog and the perfect photo to remember the trip. Afterward, we’ll drive you comfortably back to your accommodation.
Throughout the day you’ll travel in a comfortable private vehicle or van with a friendly guide-driver who knows the region inside out, sharing stories and local tips along the way. With a relaxed pace and small group feel, this tour is ideal for photos, reels, and simply enjoying the countryside.
