Description

Explore Corcovado on a full-day expedition from Puerto Jiménez and, at sunset, experience a bioluminescence sightseeing tour in the Golfo Dulce from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., outside the national park.
Enjoy a unique experience that combines two of the most impressive activities on the Osa Peninsula in a single day. In the morning, you'll explore Corcovado National Park, considered one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, and in the late afternoon, you'll discover the extraordinary natural phenomenon of bioluminescence in the calm waters of the Golfo Dulce.

The adventure begins at 5:15 AM at the Corcovado Wild Tours office, where you'll enjoy coffee and fruit before heading to the public pier in Puerto Jiménez. At 5:30 AM, you'll board the boat bound for Corcovado. During the boat trip, you can admire the coast of the Osa Peninsula and, depending on the season, spot dolphins, sea turtles, and even whales.

Upon arrival at the park, you'll start a guided hike with a certified naturalist guide in search of tapirs, monkeys, sloths, scarlet macaws, toucans, peccaries, crocodiles, and many other species that inhabit this tropical rainforest. The experience is conducted in small groups of no more than six participants, allowing for more personalized attention and greater opportunities to observe and photograph wildlife. At noon, you'll enjoy a typical lunch before returning by boat to Puerto Jiménez, arriving at approximately 2:30 PM.

After some time to rest, the adventure continues at 4:30 p.m. with the bioluminescence sightseeing tour, an activity that takes place outside Corcovado National Park, in the Golfo Dulce. Guided by a local expert, you'll kayak or take a boat through one of the areas with the highest concentration of bioluminescent microorganisms in Costa Rica. As you move the water with your hands or oars, you'll see millions of tiny organisms emit flashes of blue light, creating an unforgettable natural show.

The bioluminescence sightseeing tour ends at approximately 7:30 PM and is the perfect end to a full day of adventure, nature, and wildlife on the Osa Peninsula. The experience includes boat transportation to Corcovado, a certified nature tour guide, park tickets, a light breakfast, a typical lunch, gear for the bioluminescence activity, a specialized guide, and small groups to provide a more intimate, personalized experience.
