Native Jeeps offers a unique YOU-Drive off-road experience where guests drive one of our custom Jeep Wranglers while following experienced local guides through the Rocky Mountains. This is not a sightseeing bus tour — you are behind the wheel while we guide, coach, and lead the adventure from our own Jeep.
Our routes explore the mountains surrounding Black Hawk, Central City, Yankee Hill, and Kingston Peak using historic mining roads and scenic backcountry trails originally built during Colorado’s gold mining era. Along the way, guides share local history, mining stories, geology, wildlife, and off-road driving techniques while helping guests safely navigate the terrain.
Depending on conditions and group experience, tours may include scenic forest roads, rocky climbs, creek crossings, alpine overlooks, and high-elevation mountain terrain with incredible panoramic views.
The experience is beginner friendly and no off-road driving experience is required. Before entering the mountains, guides provide a full orientation on Jeep operation, safety, radio communication, and off-road driving basics. Throughout the tour, guides remain in constant communication and coach drivers through obstacles and trail features when needed.
Our 5–6 hour Full Adventure Tours often include scenic mountain lunch stops and additional time deeper in Colorado’s backcountry for guests wanting a more immersive off-road experience.
