This one-day tour to Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) from Tbilisi takes you through some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in Georgia, following the historic Georgian Military Highway. After meeting your guide and driver in the morning, you will head north toward the Caucasus Mountains, enjoying scenic views throughout the journey.

Your first stop is the Zhinvali Water Reservoir, where you can admire the striking turquoise water surrounded by forested hills and take memorable photos. The tour continues to the medieval Ananuri Fortress Complex, beautifully located on the banks of the Aragvi River. Here you will explore ancient defensive towers, churches, and courtyards while learning about Georgia’s feudal history.

Next, you will stop at the unique confluence of the Black and White Aragvi Rivers, a natural phenomenon where the two rivers flow side by side without mixing. The journey then takes you higher into the mountains to the Gudauri Viewpoint (Friendship Monument), offering panoramic views of deep gorges and snow-capped peaks.

After a lunch break at a local restaurant (optional), you will arrive in Stepantsminda, the main town of the Kazbegi region, located at the foot of Mount Kazbek. Guests can enjoy free time in the town or choose an optional 4x4 jeep ride (20 GEL per person) to visit the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, dramatically perched at 2,170 meters above sea level. From here, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kazbek and the surrounding Caucasus Mountains.

In the evening, you will return to Tbilisi filled with unforgettable impressions of Georgia’s natural beauty, history, and high-mountain charm.
