Begin your adventure with a comfortable pickup from your hotel in Yogyakarta. Head to Kulon Progo and hop on your bike to start your journey through the countryside.
As you pedal, take in the stunning views of the landscape and get a closer look at the daily activities of the locals. Watch farmers tending to their fields and learn about traditional agricultural practices.
Stop at a local tempeh-making workshop and see how this popular Indonesian food is made. Try your hand at making tempeh yourself, wrapping it in banana leaves. Next, visit a traditional emping cracker workshop and watch as the crackers are made using a wood-fired stove.
Continue your ride and see how ketupat, a traditional rice cake wrapped in coconut leaves, is made. Along the way, pass by fields of seasonal crops such as corn, chili, peanuts, and sugarcane.
If you’re lucky, you might even get to join in on a rice harvest. After your ride, enjoy a refreshing drink and a traditional snack before being driven back to your hotel in Yogyakarta.
