Explore Osservatorio Fondazione Prada, an exhibition space located in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. It is dedicated to visual experimentation and research on the intersections between technology and cultural expression.
Located on the fifth and sixth floors above Galleria's central octagon and the iconic glass-and-iron dome designed by Giuseppe Mengoni, Osservatorio offers an 800-square-meter exhibition space spread across two levels. Restored after World War II, the venue preserves its original structural elements, while large windows open onto the dome of the historic arcade.
Until 30 October 2026, Osservatorio hosts “The Island”, a site-specific project by artist Hito Steyerl. The exhibition explores interconnected narratives shaped by flooding, addressing urgent topics such as AI-driven authoritarian tendencies, the climate crisis, and pressures on scientific research. It features a new film by Steyerl, developed for this project, which expands into a video installation with objects, structures, and interviews.
Through these works, time and space are reorganized using the logic of science fiction and quantum physics, creating a layered exploration of contemporary reality.

INFORMATION IMPORTANTE
Osservatorio Fondazione Prada can only be accessed via the lifts at the ground-floor entrance.
All areas of the Prada Foundation venues are accessible for people with disabilities and mobility difficulties.
No animals, even small ones, are allowed inside the Fondazione Prada spaces.
Visitors may enter with their assistance or emotional support animals (ESAs), upon presentation of certification.
Strollers are allowed in all spaces.
The cloakroom service is free and available during the opening days and hours of Ossrevatorio. You must leave helmets, bags, backpacks, luggage, and other items larger than 40x18x30cm in the cloakroom.
Photography of the artworks and spaces is allowed for personal use only. Tripods and camera extension poles are not permitted in any exhibition spaces.
Osservatorio is located on the fifth and sixth floors of one of the buildings inside Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and is accessible via lifts.
