Admire the monuments of the ancient Etruscan town of Volterra on this full-day tour from Pisa, Lucca or Livorno. You’ll see the impressive Roman theater, the Piazza dei Priori, the Palazzo Pretorio, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the city walls, and the Medici fortress.

Volterra boasts incomparable works of art and architecture that bear witness to its 3,000 years of civilization. From many parts of the town, perched high up of the Balze, you’ll have views of spectacular landscapes.

Mainly built of stone, the town’s walls and the massive Medici fortress are visible from far in the distance. Volterra’s mysterious atmosphere inspired the writer Stephanie Meyer when she wrote her romantic fantasy novel, New Moon, which was the basis for the famous Twilight Saga.

See Etruscan, Medieval, and Renaissance courts, and stop to visit the traditional shops of alabaster and local crafts. You’ll have some free time for lunch (not included) and to discover the town on your own.

Afterwards, the tour continues with a panoramic stop in front of San Gimignano for a great picture. From here we will reach the village where you can spend free time in order to visit it. The ancients  and narrow streets are still now as they have built long time ago. The fortress, the towers, are something unique you must see!

Optional (on request at the reservation time or after your reservation, you need to let us know if you want it or not): we will stop in a winery in the Countryside of Tuscany in order to taste a range of dirrente glasses of Chianti wine.
