Immerse yourself in Lao culture on this half-day pottery experience in Luang Prabang. The adventure begins with a tuktuk pickup from hotel, where you will be transported to traditional pottery village.
Upon arrival at the pottery village, meet skilled local artisans who have practiced the craft for generations. Learn about the history of Lao pottery, from traditional techniques to the tools and methods used to create functional and decorative pottery. Take a guided tour of the village, observing how clay is shaped, molded, and fired in traditional kilns, and gain insight into the cultural significance of this ancient craft.
Next, return to Lao Pottery House for a hands-on workshop, where you will have the chance to create your own piece like cup, mug or bowl under the guidance of experienced instructors. All materials and tools are provided, and step-by-step instruction ensures that beginners and experienced participants alike can craft a beautiful piece. And for the piece that customers made, it will take quite long to dry and firing, some time it takes couple of weeks because if the kiln is not full, we cannot fire. So Lao pottery House will have the finished ceramic small cup or bowl as a unique souvenir for each participate. Others option we do ship pottery later (after firing) to your country by DHL, but you need to take care of all the fees.
After the workshop, enjoy a delicious local lunch, prepared with fresh, regional ingredients. Savor authentic Laotian flavors while relaxing and reflecting on your creative experience. Finally, you will be dropped back at your hotel, concluding this enriching half-day journey.

INFORMATION IMPORTANTE
The tour starts at our town shop in Luang Prabang, and transfer to the village and back is included. We cross the Mekong by ferry or boat to Ban Chan Nua, a pottery village about 4 km from town.
The morning tour includes lunch. The afternoon tour includes Luang Prabang snacks and seasonal fruit instead of a meal.
You’ll take home a small handmade cup as a souvenir. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on.
Meet us at our shop and café on Kitsalat Road. The sign above the door says “Lao Pottery House.” Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time and tell our café staff your name. Your guide or tuktuk driver will meet you there and take you to the village.

- Fees for glaze (if the customer want ceramic for their piece, the price depends on the size of the piece)
- Fees for shipping by DHL from Laos to customer's country.
- During the village tour, local artisans sell some small souvenir, if the customer wants to support the local, they need to take care of themself.
