Discover the rich historical heritage of Karabakh on a guided tour. Begin with a visit to Shusha, the former capital of the Karabakh Khanate. Admire the Shusha Fortress, built in the 18th century by Panah Ali Khan, and take in breathtaking views from Jidir Plain, a plateau in the southern part of the city.
Continue to the Gohar Agha Mosques, built at the end of the 19th century by the daughter of the Karabakh Khan. These mosques, known for their twin minarets, were damaged during the First Karabakh War but have been restored, and one of them – the Yukari (Upper) Gohar Agha Mosque – is now a national heritage site.
Next, visit the Juma Mosque in Agdam, one of the main historical and architectural landmarks of the city. The building stands out with its two minarets and distinctive Karabakh architectural style. After recent restoration, it has once again become a place of pilgrimage.
Then, head to the Askeran Fortress, located in the heart of Karabakh. Built in the 18th century, it served as a strategic defensive structure.
