Description
Explore Jingshan Park, a former imperial estate of the Ming and Qing dynasties! Climb to the Wanchun Pavilion for panoramic views of the Forbidden City.
Welcome to Jingshan Park, a magnificent imperial garden located directly north of the Forbidden City in the heart of Beijing.
Recognized as a 4A national tourist attraction, Jingshan (also historically known as Coal Hill or Mount Wansui) was built and maintained during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties as a private garden and reserve for the imperial family.
According to historical records, the earth used to form the main hill came from the excavation of the moats and the construction of the Forbidden City's palaces, and it also served as a geomantic and defensive protection barrier for the royal palace.
The park's crown jewel is the Wanchun Pavilion (Pavilion of the Ten Thousand Springs), perched on the top of the central peak.
As the highest point in Beijing's historic center, it offers the most iconic and breathtaking perspective to take in the perfect symmetry and architectural design of the Forbidden City, as well as the majestic central axis of the capital.
As you stroll along the serene paths shaded by century-old pine trees, you can also connect with crucial moments in China's dynastic history.
Entry method: QR code entry.
Opening times: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Closed on Mondays, except during public holidays and the summer season).
Practical tips: The climb to the pavilion involves steps but is accessible; comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Service note: We offer ticket booking services and comprehensive tour guides to help you plan your trip with ease.
