Known as a “living fossil”, Welwitschia is found only in the Namib Desert. Each plant has just two leaves that grow continuously for thousands of years. Some plants are over 2,000 years old. No taller than 1.5m, but with leaf spans exceeding 8m at ground level. A must-see subject for nature and photography lovers.
