Description

Embark on a 3-day trek from Pokhara to Ghorepani, Poon Hill, and Ghandruk. Enjoy panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and immerse yourself in Gurung culture.
Day 1: Ulleri to Ghorepani

Begin your trek in Ulleri, a vibrant Magar village perched on a steep hillside at approximately 2,070 meters. Enjoy your first close-up views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Leave the stone houses of Ulleri and enter a dense canopy of rhododendron and oak trees. Stop for a tea break in Banthanti and have lunch in Nangethanti (2,460 meters). After lunch, push on for 1.5 hours to reach Ghorepani.

Arrive early enough to catch the sunset from the ridge in Ghorepani. The village is split into two parts, with the upper section offering panoramic views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.

Day 2: Ghorepani to Tadapani (via Poon Hill)

Wake up at 4:30 AM to hike to the top of Poon Hill for the sunrise over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast.

Climb a secondary ridge called Deurali Pass, which offers views almost as good as Poon Hill, before descending through a narrow river gorge and moss-covered forests to reach Tadapani.

Tadapani is a small cluster of lodges with a "front-row seat" view of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

Day 3: Tadapani to Ghandruk (and return to Pokhara)

Take a short, pleasant downhill walk through the woods. Arrive in Ghandruk by lunchtime. Explore the Gurung Museum and enjoy a traditional "Thali" lunch with a view of Annapurna South.

From Ghandruk, take a private jeep or local bus directly back to Pokhara (approx. 3 hours). The road now reaches all the way to the village, making this quick exit possible.
