Catégorie:
Pays: Népal
Durée du projet:
4 jours
Description
Escape the crowds of Poon Hill on this quiet eco-trek to Mohare Danda. Watch a 360° Himalayan sunrise over Dhaulagiri & Annapurna range, then sleep in community lodges that support local villages.
Trade the tourist highways for a ridgeline with a purpose:
This isn’t the Annapurna you see on postcards — it’s the one locals built. The Mohare Danda trail was carved out by villages in Myagdi and Parbat to share their hills without losing them. You’ll walk in, not bus in, starting where jeep tracks end at Galeshwor.
What makes it different:
The mornings are yours: Step from your eco-lodge onto the ridge and watch Dhaulagiri I, Tukuche Peak, Annapurna South, and Machhapuchhre catch first light. No 4am wake-up calls or flashlight parades to a viewpoint — you’re already there.
The trail feeds villages: Every night in Bans Kharka 1,525m and Nangi 2,300m directly supports community projects started by Nepal’s “wireless man”, Mahabir Pun.
The walk is the destination: Bamboo tunnels, farmer trails, and ridges lined with national flag prayer lines. Spring brings wild orchids and crimson forests; winter brings diamond-clear air to Lamjung Himal.
The Rhythm
Day 1: Pokhara → Galeshwor. Walk into the hills through paddy and citrus to Bans Kharka. First taste of kodo millet and community cooking.
Day 2: Climb through cloud forest to Nangi. Short push to Mohare’s ridge before dusk.
Day 3: Experience the sunrise at Mohare Danda and forest loop toward Ghorepani to tick Poon Hill at dawn tomorrow.
Day 4: Experience the breathtaking most famous sunrise at Poon Hill and descend to Ulleri. Drive back to Pokhara with stories, not just photos.
