At exactly 2:00 PM, board a ship to Ssese Islands. This will take about 3-4 hours to reach Lutoboka landing site. From there, check in to your hotel to refresh and enjoy the breeze from the shores. Have dinner and relax as you prepare for day two cultural adventures. A campfire can be arranged on request.
Day 2: Nature Walks and Community Visits
Begin with a heavy breakfast served at the beach, then proceed to a guided nature walk and community visits. Your guide will take you to different places of attraction on the island while explaining the historical and cultural significance.
As you walk, the guide will identify various bird species, butterflies, and primates through the virgin forests of Buggala Island. An optional boat cruise can be arranged on request.
Break off for lunch and head to BIDCO, a palm oil processing company based on the island. Enjoy beautiful views of the islands surrounded by palm trees. Then, visit the community and have face-to-face interactions with locals through cultural storytelling as you enjoy island life away from the city.
Proceed to the hotel/guest house/resort for dinner and relaxation at the shores.
Day 3: Traditional Banana Beer Making
Begin with a heavy breakfast and a morning beach walk. Then, visit a local homestead for a hands-on traditional banana beer-making experience. Enjoy the locals taking you through the whole process as you laugh, learn, and connect with the host community.
Enjoy steps from making, fermentation process, and then taste the banana beer served in a calabash. Then, your guide will take you to a landing site where you will observe fishing techniques by the locals as you enjoy the village and island life. Drive back to the hotel for dinner and sleep over.
