Discover the hidden geological wonders of Arequipa on a specialized 4x4 quad-biking expedition along the Chili River basin. Away from conventional tourist paths, this activity combines light power-sports driving with landscape photography and volcano viewing inside the Chilina canyon corridor. Your excursion begins with a comfortable pickup from Arequipa’s central area and a short 20-minute drive north toward the Charcani sector. Upon arriving at our rural staging base, you will receive high-standard safety equipment, including a fitted helmet. Before riding onto the open trail, your local host will conduct a comprehensive safety orientation covering vehicle mechanics and steering techniques. A supervised practice session on flat ground ensures every guest feels confident operating our automatic quad bikes. Once comfortable, set out on a 14-kilometer dirt circuit winding through the Stone Ecological Park (Parque Ecológico de las Rocas). This protected natural area features dramatic rock sculptures carved over thousands of years by volcanic ash deposits and wind erosion. Drive past impressive natural stone monuments, including local geomorphological landmarks known as the "Inca Throne" (Trono del Inca) and "The Mouse" (El Ratón). Throughout the expedition, your group will make scheduled stops at elevated vantage points. Admire panoramic views overlooking the Charcani Hydroelectric gorge and capture clear, wide-angle photographs of Arequipa’s iconic volcanic trilogy: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. Your guide will act as a personal photography assistant to help you record high-quality memories at each scenic stop. With continuous monitoring and route guidance, you can focus on enjoying the rugged scenery and the excitement of off-road driving. Conclude the loop back at the staging area before taking your return transport to central Arequipa.
