Discover the historic center of Arequipa on a walking tour that combines colonial architecture, historic squares, churches, and the renowned Santa Catalina Monastery.
The tour begins at the Plaza de Armas, the heart of Arequipa, where you will admire the historic square and the impressive façade of the Cathedral. From there, you will walk through the historic streets toward the Casona Tristán del Pozo, one of the city's traditional examples of colonial architecture.
Continue to the Church and Cloisters of the Compañía de Jesús, known for their architecture and ornamental details. You will also see the San Ignacio Dome before continuing to the traditional Plaza San Francisco.
The tour ends at the Santa Catalina Monastery, a historic complex with more than four centuries of history. Here, you can explore its narrow streets, colorful cloisters, courtyards, and historic rooms while learning about the history and daily life associated with this important religious complex.
Throughout the tour, you will be accompanied by a professional guide who will share information about Arequipa's history, architecture, traditions, and cultural heritage.
The tour is available in two schedules: from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Optional: Depending on the time available, you may choose to visit additional attractions such as San Camilo Market, the Juanita Mummy Museum, or the Cathedral Museum. Entrance fees for these optional visits are not included.
