With this 2 day tour in Puerto Maldonado you will experience, discover and enjoy the Peruvian Amazon.
DAY 1
Puerto Maldonado - Lodge - Shiringuero Camp
Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the pier at Puerto Bolivar. From there, you will take a 40-minute boat ride on the Madre de Dios River to reach your lodge. After settling into your bungalow, you will enjoy your first meal in the jungle.
At 3:30 PM, you will embark on a jungle walk with your guide. You will learn about tropical trees and medicinal plants, visit a chestnut camp where Brazil nuts are cultivated, and explore a shiringuero camp to see the artisanal process of latex collection.
After the visit to the camp, you will return to the lodge to relax. You can swim in the pool, have a cocktail at the bar, or visit the boutique. In the evening, before dinner, you will take a boat ride to see caimans and other animals living in the river.
DAY 2
Parrot Clay Lick - Traditional Market - Puerto Maldonado
The second day begins early with coffee at 5:30 AM, followed by a 20-minute walk to the parrot clay lick. Here, you will observe up to 5 different species of parrots flying around you, showcasing their colorful plumage.
After the clay lick observation, you will return to the lodge for breakfast and prepare to depart for Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival in the city, you will be taken to a traditional market before concluding the 2-day tour of Puerto Maldonado.
