Explore the Peruvian Amazon on a 3-day tour from Cusco. Stay in jungle lodges, enjoy guided walks, and see wildlife like parrots, monkeys, and caimans.
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Travel by tourist transportation through the Andes, passing traditional villages and beautiful mountain landscapes before descending into the cloud forest.
Explore this unique ecosystem with a professional bilingual guide and look for wildlife such as the Andean Cock-of-the-rock, monkeys, toucans, trogons, hummingbirds, butterflies, and other tropical species. Continue to Bambu Lodge for your first night surrounded by nature. In the evening, enjoy a guided night walk to search for frogs, insects, spiders, and other nocturnal wildlife.
On Day 2, after breakfast, explore the rainforest on a guided walk and learn about tropical plants, medicinal plants, giant trees, and Amazon wildlife. Continue to Atalaya Port and board a motorized boat to navigate deeper into the rainforest. Visit Machuhuasi Lake and explore the area on a traditional wooden raft.
Look for hoatzins, monkeys, capybaras, caimans, herons, kingfishers, oropendolas, horned screamers, and numerous Amazonian bird species. Continue to Carbon Lodge for accommodation. After dinner, join another guided night walk in search of amphibians, reptiles, insects, and nocturnal animals.
On Day 3, wake up early to visit a parrot clay lick by boat. Observe colorful parrots and parakeets gathering to feed on mineral-rich clay. Wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then travel by boat back to Atalaya.
Continue by tourist transportation to Cusco, with opportunities along the route to enjoy beautiful landscapes and observe waterfalls, orchids, hummingbirds, and other wildlife.
