Description

Discover the beauty of the Scottish Borders on a day trip from Edinburgh. Visit St Abbs, Holy Island, and Bamburgh, and enjoy a group of 16 people maximum.
Escape the City: Rugged Coastlines & Ancient History

Leave the city behind and journey into a landscape of wild coastlines, ancient castles, and legendary stories. Travelling in a premium 16-seat mini-coach, this small-group tour takes you across the border into Northumberland and along some of the most dramatic scenery in the Scottish Borders.

St Abbs: Scotland’s “New Asgard”

Our first stop is the beautiful fishing village of St Abbs, famous as the filming location for New Asgard in the Marvel films. Breathe in the sea air, enjoy clifftop views, and capture stunning photos before the day’s crowds arrive.

Holy Island: Vikings, Saints & Tidal Roads

We then cross the tidal causeway to Holy Island, also known as Lindisfarne. This peaceful island was once one of the most important centres of Christianity in Britain — until the Viking raid of 793 AD changed history forever.
Access to the island depends on the tides, so the day’s timings may shift slightly to ensure a safe crossing.

Bamburgh Castle: The King of Castles

Next, we visit mighty Bamburgh Castle, one of Britain’s most spectacular coastal fortresses. Once the seat of the ancient Kingdom of Northumbria, it has also appeared in productions such as The Last Kingdom and Indiana Jones.

Castle entry is optional and not included, giving you the freedom to explore inside, stroll along Bamburgh’s sweeping beach, or enjoy time in the village beneath the castle walls.

Small Group, Big Views

With a maximum of 16 guests, this tour offers a more relaxed and personal experience than a large coach trip. Enjoy extra comfort, scenic routes, and more time to explore each stop at your own pace.

A perfect day out for lovers of coastlines, castles, history, film locations, and unforgettable views.
