Begin your day with a pickup from your Kandy hotel. As you leave the city, the air cools and the landscape transforms into rolling green hills. Your first stop is the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, situated on a hill overlooking the massive Kotmale Reservoir. The views from here are arguably the best in the region.
Continue your ascent to the breathtaking Ramboda Falls. Unlike a car, your tuk-tuk allows you to feel the mist on your face as you approach. Stop here for photos and a short walk to the base of the falls.
Next, dive into the heart of tea country. Visit the historic Damro Tea Factory (formerly Labookellie), the second-oldest tea plantation in Sri Lanka. Walk through the emerald-green tea bushes, learn the art of "two leaves and a bud" from local pluckers, and enjoy a fresh cup of Ceylon tea with a view of the plantation.
