Embark on a 2-day private safari from Arusha to Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy game drives, a picnic lunch, and a scenic stop at the crater viewpoint.
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes approximately two to three hours and passes through colorful local communities and beautiful countryside.
Tarangire is famous for its enormous elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, which attracts wildlife throughout the year. During your game drive, look for lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, warthogs, impalas, and more than 500 recorded bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. Your guide will share fascinating information about the animals, plants, and ecosystems while positioning the vehicle for the best viewing and photography opportunities.
Later in the afternoon, leave the park and travel through the Great Rift Valley highlands to your comfortable lodge near Karatu or the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy dinner, relax in peaceful surroundings, and prepare for the following day’s crater adventure.
After an early breakfast on the second day, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop at the crater viewpoint to admire the breathtaking landscape. Descend approximately 600 meters to the crater floor for an extensive game drive.
Explore open grasslands, acacia woodlands, freshwater pools, and the Lerai Forest while searching for lions, elephants, spotted hyenas, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles. The crater is also one of Tanzania’s best places to look for the endangered black rhino. Depending on wildlife movements and luck, you may encounter four or all five members of the legendary Big Five.
Enjoy a picnic lunch near a scenic location, often beside the hippo pool. After lunch, continue exploring the crater before ascending to the rim and beginning the return journey to Arusha. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening and be transferred to your hotel, Arusha Airport, or another agreed location.
