Discover the beauty and culture of northern Tanzania on a full-day tour from Moshi or Arusha. Hike to Materuni Waterfall, learn how traditional coffee is produced, and relax in Chemka Hot Springs.
Begin your adventure with pickup from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and travel toward Materuni Village, located on the green lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Upon arrival, meet your local guide and begin a scenic walk through the village, passing banana farms, coffee plantations, and beautiful countryside. Learn about the traditions and daily life of the local Chagga community as you continue toward Materuni Waterfall.
Follow a natural trail through lush vegetation until you reach the impressive waterfall. Enjoy time to take photographs, admire the surrounding landscape, and experience the refreshing atmosphere created by the cascading water.
After the waterfall visit, return to the village for an interactive coffee experience. Learn how locally grown coffee beans are harvested, dried, roasted, ground, and prepared using traditional methods. Participate in the process and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of Tanzanian coffee.
A traditional local lunch will be served before continuing to Chemka Hot Springs, also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs.
At Chemka, relax beneath large fig trees, swim in the clear turquoise water, or enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings. Despite its name, the water is pleasantly warm rather than hot, making it an ideal place to swim and unwind.
After the experience, your driver will return you to your hotel or agreed drop-off location in Moshi or Arusha.

The tour lasts approximately 8–10 hours, depending on pickup location, traffic, and weather conditions.
The hike to Materuni Waterfall follows a natural, uneven trail and may be muddy or slippery after rain.
Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are strongly recommended.
Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a change of clothes for Chemka Hot Springs.
Swimming is optional, and non-swimmers should remain in shallow areas and follow the guide’s instructions.
Please inform the tour operator in advance about dietary requirements, allergies, medical conditions, or mobility limitations.
The order of activities may change depending on weather, road conditions, and local circumstances.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Pickup time will be confirmed before the activity. Please be ready at the hotel reception 10 minutes before departure.
