Description

Explore Jozani Forest National Park, walk through mangrove bridge, and visit Salaam Cave in Kizimkazi. Learn about sea turtle conservation and play with friendly sea turtles in crystal-clear water.
our adventure begins with a seamless and comfortable pickup directly from your hotel as we head toward the heart of the island: Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park. As the island's only national park, it serves as a vital sanctuary for the rare and endemic Red Colobus Monkeys. You will have the unique opportunity to wander through their natural habitat, observing these remarkably social creatures up close a perfect moment to capture lasting memories and stunning photographs.

The journey continues with a peaceful walk along the elevated mangrove boardwalk. Here, you can immerse yourself in the serenity of the wetlands while spotting tropical fish and colorful crabs darting between the roots. Your expert guide will share fascinating insights into the ecological importance of these "walking trees" and how they protect both the environment and the livelihoods of local coastal villages.

From the forest, we travel to the historic village of Kizimkazi to visit the renowned Salaam Cave. This site is a dedicated hub for sea turtle conservation and rehabilitation. You will learn about the vital programs in place to protect these endangered species before stepping into the crystal-clear waters of the cave. There is nothing quite like the experience of swimming alongside these graceful creatures and participating in their daily feeding.

Please note that Salaam Cave operates strictly as a conservation area with a zero tolerance policy toward animal mistreatment. The turtles you encounter are currently in a period of care and recovery. Each year, we take great pride in our Sea Turtle Release program, where these animals are returned to the open ocean once they have been fully rehabilitated.

By joining this tour, you aren't just seeing the sights you are actively supporting the preservation of Zanzibar’s most precious marine life.
