Discover the ancient city of Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a Michelin Tasting, on a relaxed day trip from Bangkok. You travel from Bangkok to Ayutthaya and spend the day exploring its most important historical sites, combining ancient temples, river scenery, and local life into one experience.
At Wat Mahathat, you see one of the most iconic images of Thailand, the Buddha head surrounded by tree roots, a powerful symbol of nature and history coming together. You continue to Wat Phanan Choeng, a living temple that is still active today, where a large seated Buddha reflects ongoing spiritual life in the community.
During the day, there is time for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can relax before continuing the experience.
In the afternoon, you explore Ayutthaya from the river on a boat ride, passing local houses, riverside life, and quiet scenery along the way. This journey leads you directly to Wat Chaiwatthanaram, one of the most impressive temples in Ayutthaya, known for its riverside setting and Khmer-style architecture. Here you have time to walk around and take in the atmosphere before returning to Bangkok, where the day ends.
