Description

Immerse yourself in the real Djerba: visit the Valera Farm, enjoy a goat cheese and olive oil tasting, and then discover a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Far from the beaches and hotels, Djerba carefully guards its most delicious secrets. This excursion takes you into the heart of the authentic island, to meet the people who bring it to life.

Your day begins at Ferme Valera, nestled in Oued Zbib near Ajim. Maher and his team will welcome you to their permaculture farm, a vibrant place where the land is cultivated with respect. You'll discover the goats, the chicken coop, and the centuries-old olive trees, before moving on to the best part: the tasting. Handmade fresh goat's cheese, locally pressed Djerba extra-virgin olive oil, and traditional bread—you'll get to taste everything the farm produces, right at the source. Children can feed the animals and touch the soil with their hands. A unique experience that is both educational and delicious.

The morning continues with a visit to a monument that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2023—an international recognition that Djerba has been waiting for for over a decade. Depending on availability and your group, your guide will take you to the El Ghriba Synagogue in Erriadh, one of the oldest in the world and a living symbol of the coexistence of cultures on the island, or to one of the historic Ibadi mosques, whose unique architecture is found nowhere else.

The full-day option includes lunch served on the farm: slow-cooked dishes, garden vegetables, and homemade cheese and olives. A genuine Tunisian meal, prepared by the family.

Accessible to everyone—infants, strollers, seniors, and people with reduced mobility. Flat terrain, small groups, relaxed pace. No mass tourism. Just Djerba, as it truly is.
