ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Tunis City - Welcome Day
Welcome to Tunis. After your 1 pm meeting, explore Medina of Tunis and Zitouna Mosque, then visit Archaeological Site of Carthage.

DAY 2 - Tunis City - Full Day
Visit Kerkouane and its Kerkouane Necropolis for a glimpse of Punic life. Return to Tunis for free time, then enjoy a traditional dinner with a local family.

DAY 3 - Visit Utica & Dougga
Morning visit to the ancient port city of Utica, one of North Africa’s earliest Phoenician settlements.
Continue to Dougga (UNESCO), a remarkably preserved Roman town with temples, theatres, and baths.

DAY 4 - Visit Kairouan City
Travel to Kairouan to explore Medina of Kairouan and the Aghlabid Basins. Discover Roman remains, Islamic art, and enjoy a hands-on traditional calligraphy workshop.

DAY 5 - Oasis Arrival in Tozeur
Arrive in Tozeur, stroll through Medina of Tozeur, and taste traditional sweets at a local pastry shop.

DAY 6 - Desert Adventure & Star Wars Legacy
Excursion to the desert landscapes around Tozeur. Visit the Star Wars movie sets, used in the original saga. Evening wine-tasting & sunset experience in the oasis

DAY 7 - Sahara Desert Camping
Journey into the Sahara.
Experience a camel trek across the dunes.
Enjoy a desert sunset at the Chott el Jerid salt lake.
Overnight under the stars in a traditional Sahara camp.

DAY 8 - Troglodyte Wonders of Matmata & Star Wars Legacy
Explore the troglodyte cave dwellings of Matmata, a remarkable underground city still inhabited by Berber families.
Optional visit to homes featured in the Star Wars saga.

DAY 9 - Culinary Traditions of Sfax
Travel to Sfax, Tunisia’s commercial hub with an authentic medina.
Take part in a Tunisian cooking class, learning traditional recipes with local chefs.

DAY 10 - Ancient Wonders of Sousse & El Djem Amphitheatre
Visit the Medina of Sousse (UNESCO), a historic port city with walls, souks, and ribats.
Explore the Amphitheater of El Jem (UNESCO), one of the grandest Roman arenas outside Italy.

DAY 11 - Departure Day

This is a multi-destination tour covering Tunisia from north to south; some days include long transfers (4–6 hours), especially when traveling to Tozeur and the Sahara.
Several sites are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and involve walking on uneven ground, cobblestones, or desert terrain – a moderate fitness level is recommended.
Appropriate modest dress (covering shoulders and knees) is required when visiting mosques, medinas, and religious sites.
The Sahara Desert camp is basic but authentic; facilities may be more rustic compared to city hotels.
Weather varies by region: cooler in the north, hot and dry in the desert – packing layers is essential.
Some visits (Star Wars sets, camel rides, cooking class) are experience-based and may be weather-dependent.
Tunisia’s official languages are Arabic and French; English is spoken in tourist areas but not everywhere.
Travelers should carry local currency (Tunisian Dinar) as credit cards are not always accepted in small towns and markets.
