DMZ Tour from Hue – Discover the Historic Vietnam Demilitarized Zone

07:30 AM: Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hue city center and depart for the historic DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) in Quang Tri Province. This full-day journey takes you deep into Vietnam’s wartime history, visiting iconic landmarks along the former dividing line between North and South Vietnam.

Horror Highway (Highway 1):
Learn about the tragic events of May 1, 1972, when intense artillery attacks caused devastating losses for thousands of civilians and soldiers. This road stands today as a powerful reminder of the war’s impact.

Long Hung Church:
One of the few surviving structures after the fierce 1972 battles in Quang Tri. The church remains a solemn historical monument marking the brutal “Fire Summer” offensive.

Quang Tri Ancient Citadel:
A symbolic site of the 81-day battle in 1972, where heavy bombing nearly destroyed the entire citadel. Today it serves as a memorial honoring the sacrifices of soldiers and educating visitors about Vietnam’s resilient spirit.
Note: Formal clothing is recommended. Coverings are available for rent (10,000 VND) if wearing shorts.

Dakrong Bridge & Ho Chi Minh Trail:
Visit Dakrong Bridge, once a strategic entry point to the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. The modern suspension bridge stands proudly where fierce battles once took place.

Along the way, you may also encounter traditional Pa Co ethnic minority villages, offering a glimpse into local mountain culture.

Khe Sanh Combat Base (Ta Con Airport):
Explore the former U.S. military base, now a museum displaying captured tanks, aircraft, and wartime relics from the famous Battle of Khe Sanh.
Enjoy a cup of Khe Sanh coffee (optional, at your own expense).

Lunch Break

Hien Luong Bridge & Ben Hai River:
This historic bridge marks the 17th Parallel, where Vietnam was divided after the Geneva Agreement in 1954. For 21 years, it symbolized the separation between North and South Vietnam before reunification.

Vinh Moc Tunnels:
The highlight of the DMZ tour. This remarkable underground village protected hundreds of civilians from heavy bombing during the war. Walk through the tunnels to understand how people lived, worked, and survived underground.

18:00: Return to your hotel in Hue. End of tour.
