Wine and Nature Tour: Ribera del Duero and La Rioja from Madrid (3 days)

Day 1 – Ribera del Duero: tradition, vineyards, and historic wineries
Head out from Madrid to the prestigious wine region of Ribera del Duero, famous for its elegant reds. Guided tour of Bodega Protos, with a tour of its facilities and a tasting of three wines with local snacks.
Lunch in Peñafiel with a Castilian menu paired with local wines. Then, head to Aranda de Duero to visit a second historic winery—Don Carlos or El Lagar de Isilla—with 15th-century underground galleries and a tasting.
In the afternoon, you'll arrive in Miranda de Ebro, with accommodation and dinner at your leisure in the old town.

Day 2 – Nature and salt: Salto del Nervión and Salinas de Añana
Breakfast and then off to the Salto del Nervión, the highest waterfall on the Peninsula (220 m). Walk to the viewpoint and learn about the natural environment of the Delika Canyon.
Then, head to the Salinas de Añana, with a guided tour to learn about their ancient salt production.
Lunch in Haro, the wine capital of Rioja, followed by a visit to a local winery—like Eguren Ugarte or Luis Cañas—with a tasting. Head back to Miranda de Ebro and your accommodation.

Day 3 – The legacy of wine: Vivanco and the Wine Culture Museum
Breakfast and then off to Briones to visit Bodegas Vivanco and its Wine Culture Museum, the most comprehensive in the world on the subject. Tour of the museum, the winery, and wine tasting.
Lunch in Laguardia, a charming walled village surrounded by vineyards. Free time in Briones or Haro before heading back to Madrid, arriving at the end of the day.
