Explore up to 33km of Mt Wellington on its easiest and most accessible adventure ride. Follow the heritage-listed Pipeline Track through rainforest, mountain scenery and historic landmarks.
Your adventure begins with a 15-minute shuttle to the picturesque village of Fern Tree on the lower slopes of Mt Wellington. From here, you'll join the heritage-listed Pipeline Track and begin one of Hobart's most scenic and accessible rides.
Pedal through towering temperate rainforest, past waterfalls, historic aqueducts and spectacular mountain scenery, with regular opportunities to spot wallabies, pademelons, echidnas and even the occasional wedge-tailed eagle.
The Pipeline Track's gentle gradients and smooth gravel surface make it ideal for beginners, families and recreational riders. A steady, gradual climb is rewarded with a memorable 20km descent through beautiful forest and mountain landscapes.
Following the route of Hobart's historic water supply pipeline, you'll discover fascinating remnants of early engineering while enjoying a trail rich in both natural beauty and local history.
Despite being only minutes from the city, the ride feels wonderfully remote and immersed in nature. Best of all, you can choose the distance that suits your time, fitness and sense of adventure.

Public toilets on the Pipeline Track.
Free on-street parking on nearby Washington Street and Wentworth St.
Participants must complete a digital safety waiver before commencing the activity. Waiver instructions are emailed to the participant prior to the activity.
The Tasmanian Mountain Bike Adventures shop is easily visible on the high street.
