Day 1: Kathmandu to Paro Scenic Flight & Drive to Thimphu
Begin your journey at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu where your included round-trip international flight to Bhutan awaits. Board an early morning scenic flight to Paro, featuring incredible left-side aerial views of Himalayan peaks including Mount Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga. Upon landing at Paro International Airport (PBH), your all-inclusive package covers your pre-arranged Bhutanese visa and entry clearances. Meet your certified professional Bhutanese guide and private driver at the arrivals terminal.
Take a scenic 1.5-hour drive along the beautiful Pa Chhu and Thimphu rivers to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Visit Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point) to see one of the largest bronze sitting Buddha statues in the world, offering panoramic views of the entire Thimphu Valley. Next, visit the National Memorial Chorten, a sacred landmark stupa where locals spin prayer wheels. Explore the Centenary Farmers Market to see local organic produce, yak cheese, and regional spices. Experience Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion), which houses the King’s throne room, beautifully illuminated at dusk.
Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2: Morning Paro Drive, Tiger’s Nest Hike & Heritage Trails
Enjoy an early morning check-out at 6:30 AM and drive back to the Paro Valley to beat the midday heat and crowds. Embark on the iconic 4-to-5-hour round-trip hike to Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) which clings dramatically to a cliff face 900 meters above the valley floor. Stop at the halfway cafeteria for tea and photos before reaching the sacred cloisters.
Descend the mountain and visit Kyichu Lhakhang, a highly sacred 7th-century Buddhist temple built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. Make a brief photography and cultural stop at Dumtse Lhakhang, a unique chorten-style temple featuring exquisite ancient murals. Spend your evening enjoying free time strolling through historic Paro Town to see painted wooden shopfronts, local handicraft markets, and cozy cafes. Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel in Paro.
Day 3: Return Flight to Kathmandu & Departure
Enjoy an early breakfast at your Paro hotel before checking out. Take a private vehicle transfer with your guide to Paro International Airport (PBH). Board your included return morning flight back to Kathmandu, Nepal. Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) mid-morning, perfectly positioned for your smooth onward international flight connections or independent travel plans.
