4WD Death Road & Uyuni: 4-Day Tour from La Paz to San Pedro

Experience the Death Road, Uyuni Salt Flats, flamingo lagoons, thermal waters, and remote 4WD landscapes on a 4-day route from La Paz to San Pedro de Atacama.
DAY 1 – DEATH ROAD & OVERNIGHT BUS

Travel from La Paz to La Cumbre at 4,700 m. Receive your full-suspension bike, protective equipment, and safety briefing from your English-speaking guide.

Andean Descent – Cycle 22 km on paved mountain roads.
Death Road Access – After about 45 minutes, pay the 50 BOB entrance fee and complete a bike check.
Cliffs & Waterfalls – Ride 10 km along narrow roads with a guide and support vehicle.
Lower Yungas – Complete another 32 km through warmer, greener scenery toward Yolosa.
Afternoon Break – Enjoy a buffet lunch, shower, and swimming pool access.
Back to La Paz – Finish at our bus office at approximately 8:00 PM.

VIP Bus to Uyuni – Check in at 8:30 PM and depart at 9:00 PM. Reclining seats, Starlink Wi-Fi, heating, restroom, polar blanket, dinner, and breakfast included.

DAY 2 – UYUNI SALT FLATS & SUNSET

Meet our team in Uyuni between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM. Enjoy free time at a café before check-in at our office.

Departure at 10:30 AM.

Railway Remains – See historic locomotives outside Uyuni.
Colchani – Discover local salt production and handicrafts.
Across the Salt – Visit Saltwater Eyes, Playa Blanca, Flags of the World, and Dakar Monument.
Incahuasi Island – Walk among giant cacti with panoramic views.
Perspective Photos – Create optical-illusion pictures across the white landscape.
Sunset – Enjoy wine and snacks during the evening colors.
Overnight – Salt accommodation in Atulcha.

DAY 3 – LAGOONS, FLAMINGOS & DESERT

After breakfast, cross the southern Altiplano.

Chiguana – Pass through remote high-altitude plains.
Ollagüe – Stop at a panoramic viewpoint.
Andean Lagoons – Visit Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiarcota, known for flamingos.
Siloli Desert – Cross one of the highest desert areas on the route.
Stone Tree – See the distinctive wind-shaped rock formation.
Laguna Colorada – Observe its reddish waters and flamingos.
Overnight – Basic accommodation in Huayllajara or Polques.

DAY 4 – THERMAL WATERS & FINAL 4WD ROUTE

Depart at approximately 5:00 AM.

Sol de Mañana – Observe fumaroles and bubbling mud pools.
Termas de Polques – Relax in naturally heated waters.
Dalí Desert – Cross its remote high-altitude scenery.
Green & White Lagoons – See the contrasting waters beneath Licancabur.
Villa Mar & Rock Valley – Pass through rugged rock formations.
San Cristóbal – Stop before continuing through the final section toward San Pedro de Atacama.

Hito Cajón – Complete the border formalities with assistance from your guide before boarding the shared transfer on the Chilean side.

Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama – Continue to San Pedro de Atacama, reaching the city at approximately 1:00 PM Chilean Time and completing your 4-day experience.
