Sombai is a family-run rice liqueur house in Siem Reap, making liqueur since 2012. This guided tasting takes about 45 minutes to an hour and can be booked the same day.
What does a year in a glass jar do to lemongrass?
We buy rice wine from families in the Cambodian countryside. See the traditional rice wine equipment on display, walk past the jars where it infuses with local fruit and spice, then taste all ten liqueurs, including our bestsellers Lemon & Lemongrass, Passion & Spices and Banana & Cinnamon, with three alcoholic jams and snacks.
Every bottle is hand-painted by a Siem Reap artist, so no two are alike. Families are welcome, and it's indoors, so it works on a rainy afternoon too.
Forty-five minutes if you're busy. All afternoon or evening if you're not.

Open Monday to Saturday, 11:00-20:00, and daily from October to March.

The tasting takes about 45 minutes to an hour. You're welcome to stay longer.
You must be 18 or older to taste alcohol, including the jams (about 3% alcohol). Children are welcome with an adult.
The liqueur is about 25% alcohol.
The 100ml bottles fit hand-luggage liquid limits.
The tasting is indoors, so it runs rain or shine.
Not wheelchair accessible.
