Learn about the origins of pottery in Cape Verde, which is now an integral part of the culture and identity of the Cape Verdean people.
After being picked up by your live guide at your hotel in Praia, the airport, or the cruise terminal, head inland on the island of Santiago. Make your first photo stop in the municipality of São Domingos, and continue your journey to the São Jorge region with its botanical garden.

Visit a local rhyn distillery (the production season is from January to April). Then, continue on to Picos and admire the incredible views from the village's vantage point.

After a 10-minute drive, you'll arrive at the Fonte Lima Ceramics Interpretation Center for a day of cultural immersion with local women.

Your live guide will accompany you and explain the origins of pottery in Cape Verde, which is now an integral part of the culture and identity of the Cape Verdean people.

Continue towards the town of Assomada to visit the historic center and its famous market, and admire the vibrant colors of the local fruits and vegetables (Wednesdays and Saturdays are more interesting).

We will then visit the oldest tree in Cape Verde, known locally as "Pé de Poilon," which, according to the locals, is over five hundred years old—it is a species of kapok tree.

The day trip will end with a drop-off at your hotel in Praia, the airport, or the cruise terminal.
