Serra Malagueta : Hike Natural Park with Kapok Tree Visit Private Tour

Explore Serra Malagueta Natural Park on a guided hike. Enjoy a picnic, surrounded by mountains and the sound of birds. Visit the oldest tree in Cape Verde, a species of Kapok tree.
After being collected by the Your Tour Guide from your hotel in Praia, airport or at the cruise port, head into the interior of the island of Santiago. Make your first photo stop at the Picos municipality viewpoint, with one of the most stunning views on the island.

After a 1-hour drive, reach Serra Malagueta Natural Park, the second highest point on the island (1,064 meters), and begin your hike at 700 meters above sea level.

During the hike, enjoy nature and the cool climate, discovering local flora and fauna with your local guide. After an hour and a half of walking, reach the Antena viewpoint, with fantastic views of the east coast, where on clear days, you can see Maio and Fogo Island.

From an altitude of 900 meters, enjoy your picnic surrounded by mountains and the sound of birds.
On the way back, explore the forest trail surrounded by young eucalyptus trees and some of the park’s endemic species.

After the walk, travel another 20 minutes to the town of Assomda to visit the oldest tree in Cape Verde, known locally as “Pé de Poilon,” which, according to locals, is over five hundred years old—a species of Kapok tree.

Finally, drive back to Praia and the tour concludes with drop-off at your accommodation, airport or at the cruise Ships.
