Begin your experience in Carcaixent, known as "the orange cradle," just 35km from Valencia. Discover a 19th-century modernist house and stroll through its gardens and orange groves. Learn about citrus cultivation, including its history, varieties, pruning, grafting, and flowering.
Walk among fruit trees, including oranges, tangerines, avocados, Buddha's hand, citrus caviar, lemons, kumquats, grapefruit, pomegranates, papayas, and medlars. Collect your own oranges (in season, from October to June) and visit the Naranjas Ribera warehouse to learn how oranges are calibrated and selected before being sent across Europe.
Gain insight into the current state of Valencian citrus growing. Visit the well that irrigates the orange orchard. At the end of the visit, taste typical Valencian products, such as orange juice, tangerines (in season), Valencian liqueurs, homemade jams, and orange blossom honey.
