Pick-up in Quito

The sightseeing tour begins with pick-up from your hotel, Airbnb, or address within the urban area of Quito. Original Equatorial Monument – Calacalí

The first stop will be at the historic Equatorial Monument in Calacalí, the first monument built to commemorate the 18th-century French geodesic expedition. Here you will learn about the scientific importance of the measurements taken to determine the equatorial line, and you will be able to take photos at this historic site. This monument preceded the current tourist complex.

We will continue to the renowned Intiñán Museum, an interactive space located very close to the equator. We'll then visit the Middle of the World City, one of the most important tourist attractions in the country. The complex houses the iconic equatorial monument, museums, squares, gardens, artisan shops, and cultural spaces. You can tour the interior of the monument, visit the ethnographic museum spread over several levels, enjoy excellent photo opportunities, and walk on the iconic line that represents the division between the northern and southern hemispheres. The complex also has restaurants and cafés where you can sample Ecuadorian cuisine if you wish.
