Take on one of Nordfjordeid’s most popular summit hikes on a guided adventure to Trollenykjen, rising 898 metres above sea level.
Meet your guide in Nordfjordeid before setting out on this demanding mountain hike. The route is approximately 7.2 km out and back, with around 890 metres of elevation gain, so good hiking fitness is required.
As you climb higher, the landscape opens up and the views become increasingly impressive. From the mountain you can look down towards Nordfjordeid and across the surrounding fjords, valleys and mountains of Nordfjord.
The hike normally takes around 4.5–5 hours, depending on the group, trail conditions and weather. Your guide will set a suitable pace and can make reasonable adjustments along the way.
Reaching the summit at 898 metres rewards you with a wide panoramic view and an excellent place to take photos and enjoy the mountain surroundings before beginning the descent back towards Nordfjordeid.
This is a demanding hike and is best suited to guests with good physical fitness. We recommend a minimum age of 12 years. Mountain weather can change quickly, so the route may be adjusted for safety. If weather or trail conditions prevent the Trollenykjen summit hike from taking place, the activity will be cancelled and guests will receive a full refund.

Meet your guide at Eid Småbåthamn, the small-boat harbour located a short walk south of the Port of Nordfjordeid cruise pier.
After leaving the cruise ship, follow the waterfront toward Eid Småbåthamn. Your guide will be waiting at the harbour meeting point.
