Make a full day of it on Winter Haven’s famous Chain of Lakes with a narrated, guided boat experience that blends sightseeing, wildlife, local history, and a relaxed lunch break. Departing from Harborside Restaurant, you’ll set out with a captain-guide for the first leg of your journey: a 2-hour cruise through some of the area’s best-loved lakes and connecting canals. As you glide across the water, listen to stories about Winter Haven’s past and the points of interest that shaped the region. Enjoy changing waterfront scenery that ranges from canal stretches to open lake views, with frequent chances to spot native wildlife. Depending on the day, sightings may include bald eagles, otters, alligators, and a variety of birds. After the first cruise, return to Harborside for a lunch stop with preferred seating and exclusive reservations arranged for your group. Lunch is purchased separately, giving you the flexibility to choose what you’d like before heading back out on the water. After lunch, reboard for a second 2-hour cruise to explore more of the Chain of Lakes—up to 16 lakes in total—passing ancient vegetation, impressive lakefront homes, and scenic waterways. Plan for about 5 hours total, including roughly 4 hours on the water and around 1 hour for lunch, for an easygoing day that covers ancient vegetation, historical landmarks such as Cypress Gardens and Legoland from the water and plenty of local wildlife!
