DAY 1 | Tokyo – Ginzan Onsen – Naruko Onsen

Ginzan Onsen (Approx. 90 mins free time; may extend to 120 mins depending on conditions)

A 500-year-old onsen town famed for its Taisho-era wooden ryokans lining the Ginzan River. Said to inspire the bathhouse in Spirited Away, Ginzan’s gas lamps, snowy streets, and riverside scenery create a nostalgic winter dream. Enjoy a leisurely stroll, try local tempura soba, and relax at the free Waraku Foot Bath near the entrance.

Witness the legendary “Ice Monsters,” formed when Siberian winds meet snow-laden trees. Ride the ropeway across three stations to enjoy 360° panoramic views and close-up encounters with this rare winter phenomenon—found only in northern Japan.

Zao Fox Village (Approx. 60 mins free time; admission fee not included)

A forest park home to over 100 foxes of 7 species, including red and Arctic foxes. Enjoy photo opportunities, feeding experiences, and seasonal winter coats. All foxes are captive-bred with strict safety regulations—please follow staff instructions.

Onihei Edo Place (Approx. 30 mins, including snack time)

An Edo-period themed rest area inspired by the novel Onihei Hankacho. Enjoy classic Edo-style eateries and snacks before returning to Tokyo.
