You'll start at Shikisai-no-Oka, a vast patchwork of rolling flower fields that bloom in bands of colour across the hills, then continue to the famous Biei Blue Pond, where mineral-rich water glows an unreal cobalt blue among bare larch trees.
Nearby, Shirahige Falls tumbles into the blue Biei River, and the Ningle Terrace, a cluster of little wooden craft cabins in the forest, invites a quiet wander. In Furano you'll reach Farm Tomita, Hokkaido's most famous lavender farm, where rows of purple stretch toward the mountains, and the Herb Garden nearby.
