Once a Jurassic Shale Quarry, Nguuni was nothing more than an abandoned stretch of infertile and discarded land. Today, it stands as a thriving nature sanctuary and one of Mombasa’s last remaining green spaces. It is a vital refuge where local residents and eco-tourists alike can relax, explore, and reconnect with nature.

This experience starts in the afternoon taking time to wander through the lush green bush, discovering animals roaming through their natural habitat. Endangered plant species flourish alongside sweeping acacia woodlands, creating a thriving ecosystem for over 300 bird species, many of them rare or endemic. Watch and listen as they nest peacefully across the wetlands.

See majestic giraffes, curious ostriches, oryx, waterbuck, and herds of elands roam freely across the landscape, living as they have for generations. There are various picnic spots located within the park, so you can sit back, relax, and take in all of the natural beauty.

Relax and unwind with friends and family, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, ending the experience with a spectacular watch of the sun set behind the enchanting Nguu Tatu Hills.
