Slow boat to Luang Prabang.

Day 1: 5:00–5:30 AM: Get picked up by a Minivan (10 seats) from your place or a central spot in Chiang Rai.

6:30 AM: Cross the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge No. 4 (Bokeo Province) by shuttle bus.

9:00 AM: Start your chill boat trip to Pakbeng, soaking in the awesome views of Northern Thailand as the scenery shifts to the calm waters and green banks of the Mekong River.

4:00 PM: Get to Pakbeng (your stay isn't included). You can book a hotel and grab dinner at a riverside restaurant. You'll need to take all your stuff off the boat and bring it back tomorrow.

Day 2: 8:00 AM: Keep going on the boat trip to Luang Prabang. Listen to the water and birds, letting yourself relax and think about the journey. If the boat's packed, we suggest getting there early to snag a seat.

4:00 PM: Arrive at the slow boat terminal in Luang Prabang, where you can check out cool Buddhist temples and explore the town.
