Luang Prabang: Coffee Farm Tour with Roasting & Workshop

Discover the heart of Northern Laos on a guided tour from Luang Prabang. Visit a Hmong village, learn about sustainable coffee production, and enjoy a locally-prepared lunch.
Begin your day with a delicious cup of coffee and a takeaway breakfast at one of Luang Prabangs best coffees. Meet your guide and fellow participants, then set off on a scenic drive to Long Lan village. Along the way, learn about the history of Lao coffee, its significance in the local economy, and the challenges it faces.

Upon arrival at Long Lan village, be greeted by a member of the Hmong community who will introduce you to their daily life and the work done on the farm. Taste seasonal fruits and vegetables, and learn about local medicinal plants.

Next, head to the coffee farm and discover the different stages of coffee harvesting. Help the farmers hand-pick coffee cherries, sort them, and transform them into parchment. Gain a deep appreciation for the hard work that goes into preparing an excellent cup of coffee.

Enjoy a traditional Hmong lunch in the village, with locally prepared family-style dishes. After lunch, your host will brew you a fresh cup of coffee before you return to Luang Prabang.

Back in town, roast your own batch of coffee as a souvenir of your tour. You're in charge of the whole process: Sort the green beans, roast them, and pack and label your own coffee bag to take home.
