Kathmandu: 4-Day Pikey Peak Trek with Everest Views

Embark on a 4-day trek to Pikey Peak from Kathmandu. Enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest, immerse yourself in Sherpa culture, and experience the beauty of the Himalayas.
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap & Trek to Jhapre (2,820 m)

Begin your journey with an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Dhap, passing through scenic mid-hill landscapes, rivers, and traditional villages. After reaching Dhap, the trek officially starts.

Gently ascend through pine and rhododendron forests with beautiful views of rolling hills and distant mountains. Reach Jhapre village, a peaceful Sherpa settlement known for its monastery and excellent Himalayan viewpoints. On a clear day, catch your first glimpse of Mount Everest. Overnight stay at a local teahouse.

Day 2: Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3,640 m)

After breakfast, climb steadily through dense forests, open yak pastures, and prayer-flag-lined ridges. This is a culturally rich day, passing chortens and mani walls that reflect Tibetan Buddhist traditions.

As you gain altitude, the views become wider and more dramatic. Arrive at Pikey Peak Base Camp, surrounded by alpine landscapes and quiet mountain scenery. This is an important acclimatization day before the summit climb.

Day 3: Sunrise Hike to Pikey Peak (4,065 m) & Trek to Jhapre

Start early for the sunrise hike to Pikey Peak summit. From the top, enjoy one of the best panoramic views in Nepal, including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna ranges on a clear day.

After spending time at the summit, descend back to base camp for breakfast, then continue trekking down to Jhapre. The descent is easier and offers different perspectives of the landscapes you crossed earlier.

Day 4: Trek to Dhap & Drive Back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed downhill trek back to Dhap, passing through farmland and forest trails. From Dhap, begin the scenic drive back to Kathmandu, arriving by evening. This marks the end of your short but unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
