Architecture becomes a timeline: caravanserai courtyards and hammams from Ottoman trade routes; churches and mosques in close conversation; 20th-century modernism shaped by the 1963 earthquake and the ambitions of its rebuild; and the recent wave of monumental projects that altered sightlines, plazas, and debates about memory. You’ll pick up practical culture, too: how to greet vendors, entering shrines respectfully, and how locals navigate markets and alleys.
