Marvel at Guardian Volcanoes and Historic Viewpoints
Your journey begins heading toward the traditional outskirts of Arequipa. Our first stop is the spectacular Carmen Alto Viewpoint in the Chilina Valley. Here, stand in awe before Arequipa’s three iconic guardian volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. Enjoy a perfect view of the valley’s brilliant green fields and the ancient pre-Inca terraces. Next, cross the modern Chilina Bridge to enter Yanahuara. Walk through its famous 19th-century arches built from sillar (white volcanic stone) and admire the San Juan Bautista Church. The tour continues at the Incalpaca Textile Factory, featuring a beautifully maintained mini-zoo with the four species of South American camelids: llamas, alpacas, wild vicuñas, and guanacos. Learn about the process of spinning luxurious alpaca fiber. Dive deeper into the countryside to visit the majestic Founder’s Mansion (Mansión del Fundador) in Huasacache. This beautifully preserved 17th-century estate belonged to the founder of Arequipa (optional entry).

A short drive brings us to a unique piece of local folklore: the Museum of the Fighting Bull "Menelik", dedicated to a legendary champion bull that weighed 1,400 kg (optional entry). Next up is the historic Sabandía Mill (Molino de Sabandía). Built in 1621, this stone mill stands as a peaceful oasis. Here, enjoy free time to relax or choose optional adventures like horseback riding, ATVs, or a zipline.

Return via Ancient Terraces
On our way back, we will pass through the district of Paucarpata to admire the breathtaking pre-Inca agricultural terraces still farmed today. The tour concludes with a smooth ride back to the heart of the city, dropping you off safely at the Plaza de Armas of Arequipa.
