We will pick you up from your hotel in downtown Arequipa to begin the journey to the highlands, enjoying the change of scenery from the city to the high plateau.
7:30 AM | Pampa de Arrieros – History of the railway
We will stop at Pampa de Arrieros, an old town linked to the rail routes between Arequipa and the highlands. You'll learn about part of its history and have time to take photos.
8:00 a.m. | Pampa Cañahuas – Vicunas in the wild
We'll continue to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Nature Reserve, where you can observe vicuñas in their natural habitat and learn about their importance for the Andean ecosystem.
9:00 AM | Andean Breakfast + Mate
We'll arrive in Patahuasi to enjoy a breakfast and a traditional mate. The tour guide will share information about Andean plants and their traditional uses within the culture of the high Andean communities.
10:00 a.m. | Trek to the Pillones Waterfall
We will head to the start of the trail for a hike of approximately 30 minutes along a rocky path of moderate difficulty, surrounded by natural landscapes.
11:00 a.m. | Pillones Waterfall
We'll arrive at the impressive Pillones Waterfall, located at approximately 4,600 m. Enjoy its cascades, rock formations, and beautiful landscapes, and take photos.
11:45 AM | Return and group photograph
We will walk back to our transportation and take a group photo as a souvenir of the adventure.
12:30 PM | Puruña Stone Forest – Legend of the Mukis
We will explore the Puruña Stone Forest and learn about the traditional Legend of the Mukis, mythical beings of the Andes who, according to tradition, are related to the mountains, mines, and riches of the land.
1:30 PM | Andean Lunch ️
We will return to Patahuasi to enjoy lunch with local cuisine options at the restaurant.
3:00 PM | Drop-off in Arequipa
After lunch, we'll begin the return journey, enjoying the landscapes of the highlands once again.
5:00 PM | Arrival in Arequipa
We will arrive in the town center, ending the service near Plaza de Armas in Arequipa.
