From Cusco: Ausangate 7 Lakes Horseback Riding & Hot Springs Shared Tour

Embark on a small-group horseback riding tour to the 7 Lakes of Ausangate. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, stunning views from Chaupi orco viewpoint, and Pacchanta hot springs.
Your unforgettable Ausangate 7 Lakes adventure begins with a 4:30 am pick-up from your hotel in Cusco by our professional guide. We will then travel to the Andean community of Pacchanta, located at 4,100 m (13,451 ft), at the foot of majestic Ausangate Mountain. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast prepared by our professional native cook, giving you the energy you need to begin this incredible Andean adventure.

After breakfast, our guide will organize the horses and provide a detailed explanation of the route, safety recommendations, and designated meeting points. As horses travel faster than hikers, horseback riders will reach Pucacocha Lagoon, the first viewpoint of the 7 Lakes, ahead of the hiking group, where everyone will meet before continuing the experience together.

During this shared group tour, you will travel with other adventurers from different countries. Our professional guide will coordinate the group throughout the experience, ensuring everyone enjoys the route safely and comfortably.

We will visit the spectacular 7 Lagoons of Ausangate: Pucacocha, Patacocha, Alqacocha, Q’omercocha, Orqo Otorongo, Otorongo, and Azulcocha. Each lagoon offers unique colors and breathtaking scenery, with the majestic Ausangate Mountain rising to 6,372 m / 20,906 ft.

To explore the 7 Lagoons, we will walk for approximately 30 minutes, allowing you to visit the different lagoons, take photos, and enjoy the incredible Andean landscapes. Horseback riders will have additional time to explore because the horses move faster than hikers.

Another highlight of the experience is the Chaupi orco Viewpoint, where you can admire panoramic views of the seven lagoons, the surrounding valleys, and the imposing Ausangate Mountain.

After enjoying the scenery, we will return to Pacchanta on horseback, where a delicious buffet lunch prepared by our professional native cook will be waiting for you. We will then relax in the natural hot springs of Pacchanta before beginning our return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 pm.

Important Note: This is a mixed group tour where some participants ride horses while others hike. A horse handler will accompany the horses throughout the experience. If you have previous horseback riding experience, you may ride at your own pace by informing our professional guide. Since horses move faster than hikers, horseback riders will have additional time to enjoy the 7 Lakes, viewpoints, and hot springs. Please note that all participants will walk approximately 30 minutes to fully explore the 7 Lagoons.
