Explore the Rainbow Mountain and Q’eswachaka Inca Bridge on a 2-day tour from Cusco. Cross the ancient bridge, visit the Four Lagoons, and hike to the Rainbow Mountain.
Day 1: Cusco – Q’eswachaka Inca Bridge – Four Lagoons – Overnight in Amaru TreeHouse Cusipata

Begin with a pickup from your accommodation in Cusco. If your hotel or hostel is not located in the city center, get picked up from the doorway of the local partner's office building.

Then, take a 2-hour car journey to the town of Cusipata, where you'll arrive at the Amaru TreeHouse hotel. Select your room and leave some of your belongings, use the bathrooms, and rest for a while.

After this, continue driving for 25 minutes until you reach the Combapata viewpoint, from which you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes and see where the Salcca River meets the Vilcanota, the Sacred River of the Incas.

Then, continue your journey to Yanaoca, one of the eight districts in the Canas province of Cusco. From Yanaoca, drive for one more hour to the Q’ewe district. From there, have your first glimpse of the ancient bridge suspended between the steep rock cliffs, as you drive down the Apurimac canyon.

Leave the car and descend a steep path to a viewpoint to take photos, before carefully crossing the bridge. Get ready for the adrenaline rush of a lifetime as you make your way across the suspension bridge, and try not to look too closely at the river several meters below. On the other side, the bridge attendant will greet you and give a brief demonstration of the bridge’s history and construction. After this amazing experience, take your box lunch and continue the trip.

Then, drive to the region’s where the four famous lakes are: Pampamarca, Posqoqoccha, Acopia, and Pomacanchi. Set like jewels among the gold-green hills, they shine in the warm, afternoon sun as native flamingos and other birds fly and feed around their edges. Continue driving to Cusipata to the hotel Amaru TreeHouse where you'll spend the night.

Day 2: Cusipata (Amaru TreeHouse) – Rainbow Mountain + Red Valley Viewpoint – Cusco

Begin with a pickup from Amaru TreeHouse in Cusipata. Take a 1.5-hour transfer to the hike starting point. Continue your trip to the Rainbow Mountain for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. On the way there, enjoy beautiful landscapes and see the wildlife.

Start your adventure with a walk uphill for about 1 hour and a half, appreciating in the background snowy mountains and wonderful landscapes. Then, finally reach the point to which you will be able to appreciate the colors of the Rainbow Mountain and the stunning view it offers.

After visiting and taking pictures, return the same way you came with a 1.5-hour hike, then take lunch at Cusipata, and start the drive back to Cusco, arriving between 6:00 and 6:30 pm.
